TransCare’s 11th Annual Barefoot Bowls Charity Night 2016 was a huge success.
Scone Bowling Club sponsored the Barefoot Bowls Charity Night with the venue and also presented a generous cheque donation of $1,000 to TransCare.
The MC for the night was John Jenkins who did a fantastic job as usual and a big thank you to Reg and Doug who also assisted on the night. We would also like to thank the Bowling Club staff and TransCare staff who helped the whole night run smoothly.
Scone Lions Club volunteered to run the sausage sizzle as well as provided all the food – was a huge success.
Benny the Bear showed up during the night – keen to be part of photo shoots.
We had 28 Bowls Teams competing on the night – went for 1.5 hours. Afterwards, prizes were awarded for the evening. There were over $9,000 worth of prizes donated by businesses from Scone, Merriwa, Tamworth, Aberdeen, Muswellbrook, Lower Hunter Region, Newcastle and Wollongong.
The following teams were awarded as Winners of the Bowls:
‘Spider’ Winner: Mitchel Reid; ‘Winning Bowling Team': Cracker Jacks; ‘Bowling Team Runners Up': RSL Misfits; ‘Best Dressed Team': Home Heroes; ‘Best dressed Team Runners Up': Smurfs.
‘Team Players Bonus’: Ben Farrow (Kindly donated prize back to auction) – drawn by Wayne Bedggood (Transcare Chairman and Upper Hunter Shire Mayor) and Celeste Bond (TransCare Director).
The ‘Street Raffle’ was drawn by TransCare Director Celeste Bond – 3 winners were announced.
The raffles were a huge success with a choice of 80+ prizes. The auctions were conducted by Ben Middleton and Tristan Wells from Scone Outdoors who both put on a very entertaining show auctioning the following prizes: Whipper Snipper, Bus Hire, Legal Services, Bodyography Beauty Package, Car Service, Solar Panel Kit, Dinner Certificate.
Stephen Cohn closed the night thanking the Scone Bowling Club; all the other sponsors and to everyone for showing up and supporting TransCare on another wonderful charity night.
