The ‘Bob Moore Bus’ made it’s maiden social trip on the weekend – a day out to the historic town of Uralla in NSW. Due to great interest with the Uralla trip, a second bus was booked to ensure that everyone could make the annual event.
The buses stopped for morning tea at Tamworth for a welcome break with a nice cuppa and a wonderful array of tempting treats.
The weather forecast predicted rain. However, the sun gods were smiling on everyone all day. The beautiful weather made the annual ”Thunderbolts Festival” even more enjoyable. There were also market stalls and entertainment in the park that added to the day being such a fun day out.
The trip home saw a visit to the famous Thunderbolts Grave at the Uralla Pioneer Cemetery in John Street. The buses also passed Thunderbolt’s Rock which is a time-worn cluster of granite boulders located six kilometres south of Uralla on the New England Highway.
On the way home, there was a lucky seat raffle with the winners taking home unexpected extra’s making it a wonderful day had by all. A huge thank you to the wonderful volunteers on the day and those who brought along food for morning tea.
