From November 9 2017, TransCare will be trialling an extra bus service to Tamworth each week. 

Transport coordinator Helen Schlegel said it has been in the works for a while.

“We currently have a community bus run that operates to Tamworth every Tuesday, and have had suggestions for a while that Thursday might be popular as well,” she said.

“We do take the feedback from the community on board, and that is why we are going to give it a go.

“It will run the same as our current Tuesday service, which offers passengers four hours in Tamworth if they are doing the round trip.”

People who currently use the community bus run do so to attend appointments in Tamworth, as well as catching up with friends or just for a day out.

The Thursday service will run as a trial initially, to determine popularity and sustainability. The first of this additional service will operate from Muswellbrook on Thursday, November 9.

The new Thursday service will depart from Muswellbrook at 7.20am, and Scone at 8am. It will arrive in Tamworth at 10am, and depart at 2pm for the trip home.

Bookings are essential, the fee will vary depending on your departure point and if it is a one or two way trip.
