Bulga Crafters

In rural areas there is no shortage of people who are willing to lend a hand any way they can.
Over recent months the Bulga Crafters have been busy knitting beanies and gloves, and stitching blankets that have been donated to the Cancer Council for the Transport to Treatment program.
Each of our clients on the Transport to Treatment program will be given one of these bags and they can use the contents in the car, on the couch or anywhere they need it.
TransCare is just one of the recipients of the generosity of the Bulga Crafters thanks to the Cancer Councils Upper Hunter office.

Barefoot Bowls Night

TranCare is looking forward to again hosting our Annual Barefoot Bowls Night on Thursday October 24.
The Lions Club of Scone has been a supporter of the Bowls Night since the start and this year we are proud to be partnering with them to support the Local Farmers Drought Relief Fund.
This fund sees that local support stays in the area, providing vouchers and food hampers to families who have fallen on hard times as the dry conditions continue.
Entry is $40 for a team of four with no bowling experience needed, but a sense of fun and costume are encouraged!
New in 2019 will be the opportunity for businesses to sponsor the event, with benefit levels to match the support.
For more information on sponsoring or entering a team in the event, contact Jemma on 0409 780 650 or email jemma@transcare.org.au.

Long Distance Transport Booking Notifications

We will be running a trial of an automated system to deliver confirmations of long distance transport bookings.
In the days prior to your trip you will get a call to your primary contact number that will confirm your appointment time, destination, and pick up time.
For this system to work correctly, please ensure we have your current phone number and address.
The confirmation process for direct (local) and social support transport will remain the same.

Regional Australia Bank donation

On Wednesday August 14 TransCare Community Coordinator Samm Turri attended the annual Community Partnership Program presentation evening.
On the night TransCare was presented a donation of almost $3000, which has been raised by members of the community choosing TransCare as the community beneficiary on their account.
Ask in branch how you can support TransCare next time you visit the Regional Australia Bank.

Notes:
- Daylight savings will start on Sunday October 6 when clocks will move forward an hour at 2am.
- If you have moved or have a new phone number please let us know so we can keep our records up to date.
